Edith May  Stevenson (Eaves)
Edith May (Eaves) Stevenson, of Enfield, CT left us to be with her Lord early on Monday, June 27, 2016. Born in Jaffrey, New Hampshire to the late Elmer and Leila (Moore) Eaves on January 24, 1923, she grew up on a farm which she loved. She attended Bay Path College, graduating with a degree in Secretarial Science. On November 16, 1952, Edith and Kenneth were united in Holy Matrimony and they enjoyed over 62 years of marriage. She was an active member of the Somers Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess and played the piano and organ. Edith loved crafts, knitting, sewing and crossword puzzles. She leaves behind her loving family who will miss her very much, her husband Ken, her daughter Linda Stevenson and her husband Robert Lowell of Suffield, her son Kenneth Stevenson and his wife Jane of Simsbury, daughter Joyce Fairbanks and her husband Joseph of South Hadley, MA; her brother Ray Eaves of Hancock, NH; her sister, June Parker and her husband, Tom of Fitzwilliam, NH; her granddaughter Maryjane Stevenson and her great granddaughter, Skylar Storrs Russell; Skylar's father, Matthew Russell and many nieces and nephews. Edith was predeceased by her brother Alton Eaves. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, from 1 pm to 2 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service celebrating Edith's life will begin at 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Somers Baptist Church, 40 Battle Street, Somers, CT 06071 or to Masonicare Home Health and Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, East Hartford, CT 06108.
