Obituary for Dolores A. Frascarelli Rehmer (Benvenuto)

Dolores A. (Benvenuto) Frascarelli Rehmer, 83, longtime resident of Enfield entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Fresh River Healthcare in East Windsor. She was born June 6, 1933, in Hartford, CT the daughter of the late Carmine and Philomena (DeFillippo) Benvenuto. Dolores was employed as the Deli Manager at the former Chester's Supermarket in East Windsor for many years. Dolores was a devout Catholic she intuited the Buddhist philosophy that Life Is Suffering- which made her practice life-long compassion and love for all living things, except maybe cats, which she felt uncomfortable around. She smiled at people she didn't know. She understood and practiced the ethic of hard work. She was a warrior who would have died for a family member or friend, as a true Sicilian/Italian Mother. Dolores is survived by four children, Chuck Rehmer of Wethersfield, Erich Rehmer and his companion, Brenda of FL, Denise Allen and her husband, Jesse of FL and Andy Rehmer of Enfield; her 12 grandchildren, Bianca, Brittany, Dylan, Bobby, Jason, Daniel,Julia, Dakota, Kyle, Tara, Emily, and Allison; her brother, Jimmy Benvenuto of Enfield; a cousin, Susan who visited her often and several nieces and nephews. Dolores was predeceased by three brothers, Andrew, Vincent and Carmelo Benvenuto; three sisters, Fran Spirito, Phyllis Benvenuto and Josephine Sarli. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, from 9 am to 11am at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. Enfield. A funeral service for Dolores will be celebrated at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.
