Obituary for Ruby A. McGrath (Rega)

Ruby A. McGrath, 74, of East Windsor, beloved wife of the late John “Jack” McGrath, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born on June 3, 1942, in Plainfield, CT; a daughter of the late Alexander Rega and Anna Myers-Blanchard. She was a resident of Windsor Locks for fifteen years until 1986 when she moved to East Windsor. Ruby was employed for various companies but most recently Viking Office Products from where she retired in 2004. She enjoyed crosswords, dancing, painting and tending to her garden. She is survived by three children, John J. McGrath, Jr. and his wife Linda of Windsor Locks, Kathleen Amy McGrath-Bergeron and her husband John of Stafford Springs, and Theresa Joan McGrath of East Windsor; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Francis Myers and Arthur Bissell both of Bristol. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a daughter Irene A. McGrath and a sister Mary Ouellette. Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
