Carmelo J.  Brutto
Carmelo J. Brutto, 94, of Enfield, CT loving husband of 63 years to the late Nellie (Rossini) Brutto entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at Parkway Pavilion. Carmelo was born May 22, 1922, in Naro, Sicily, Italy the son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Vella) Brutto. Carmelo along with his parents immigrated to the United States in 1930.

He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater of Operations. He was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with 3 Bronze Service Stars. After being honorably discharged in December of 1945 he began a successful career with the G. Fox and Co. He retired from G. Fox in 1987 after 46 years. Carmelo was a faithful parishioner of Holy Family Church in Enfield. He was a member of the Rinaldi-Fede Italian American Veterans Post No. 17 and the John Maciolek Post #154 American Legion both of Enfield. Carmelo enjoyed playing cards with the boys and looked forward to his Sunday Breakfasts and Tuesday's at the Senior Center. He was an avid golfer up until his early 90's.

Carmelo is survived by his loving children, Richard Brutto and his wife, Rebecca of Worcester, MA and Gina DeBrino and her husband, Peter of Somers; three grandchildren, David Brutto and his wife, Julia of Melrose, MA, Timothy Brutto of Worcester, MA and Marisa Forti of Somers; a brother-in-law, John Rossini and his wife, Carol of East Windsor and several nieces and nephews. Carmelo's family would like to thank the caregivers at Comfort Keepers, the nurses and staff at Parkway Pavilion and the nurses at Masonicare Partners Home Health & Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care given to Carmelo.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Monday, November 28, 2016, from 9 am to 11am at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service for Carmelo will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.
