Kathleen M. "Kathy"  Shepard (McEwan)
Kathleen M. Shepard, 65 , of Enfield, beloved wife of John J. Shepard for 23 years, entered into eternal peace Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, MA she was the daughter of Shirley (Daigneault) MacCallum and the late Ralph McEwan. Kathy was raised in Agawam, MA and lived in Enfield for 30 years. She owned and operated her own Salon, The Look of Length, in East Windsor and later was employed as an instructor at the New England School for Hairdressing in New Britain. She was a member of the Lady Shriners Helma Court #64 in Springfield. She was an avid horseback rider, and enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband. Besides her husband John and mother Shirley, Kathy is survived by her children, Wendy Bannish and her husband William of Suffield, Krystal Ouellette of Torrington, CT, Jonathan Shepard of Enfield, CT, Kylene Perras and her husband Jim of South Windsor, CT, Candice Smith of Salem, OH; a brother, Ralph McEwan Jr. of Feeding Hills; a sister, Lynn Carter of Norfolk, CT; seven grandchildren, Katrina, Jasmine, Nathan, Austin, Lisette, Brianna, and Clayton; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Family and friends may gather at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Leete-Stevens for a procession to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery. Donations in Kathy's memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
